Most love stories are simple, but for these high school sweethearts, their story started long before they were even born. When the brides grandparents met and fell in love while her great grandfather worked on the Virginian Railroad, they couldn't have possibly known that their one day great grand daughter would draw her wedding day inspiration from their love story. Could that be any sweeter?
For a lot of people, family is everything, but Kaitlyn and Colten wanted to take it a step further, and pay homage to their heritage through their carefully curated wedding day. When they found the Epic Railyard, they knew it was the place they would gather their friends and family to celebrate their love, and to celebrate the legacy of love that Kaitlyn’s great grandparents had built so many years before.
Kaitlyn and Colten decided that a vintage bohemian style for their day would be a perfect way to marry together their vintage heirloom details with their industrial venue, and we couldn't agree more! Every detail from the brides stunning lace dress and embroidered vail, to the soft touches of natural light streaming through the venues vintage paneled windows worked so perfectly together.
Kaitlyn even carried her great grandmothers sapphire engagement ring as her something old, something borrowed, and something blue. “My mother wore it in her wedding, as well as my older sister, and now it was my turn” Kaitlyn said. The ring carried five generations of history, and was a touching addition to their wedding day. Of its significance, Kaitlyn said “Its a symbol of the strength and resiliency of the women in our family.”
We are so amazed by the deep love that these two have for each other, and for the people in their lives who have created a legacy of love stories that they were able to follow in.
