Tacos and Friends, A Fabulously Fun Pittsburg Wedding

August 29, 2018

In January of 2013 Dustin transferred to Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital YMCA, where Kayla had been working for the past few months. They hit it off instantly, and found themselves staying at work long after their shifts, just to be around each other. Dustin was immediately drawn to Kayla’s high energy personality, and Kayla felt an attraction to Dustin’s sense of humor and kind heart. Dustin finally worked up the courage to ask Kayla out, leading to a month long series of “fortunate” dating events. They were definitely falling for one another. Once they realized what they had together the sparks flew, and they have spent every day together since! When you ask them about the first few months together they just smile and say it was the start of the best time of their lives. They have been totally and infatuated in love ever since, and are looking forward to forever.

From the Bride Kayal about her wedding day, guys this wedding is one for the books and we are so happy to share:

For Us, we love food, fun, and quality time with the people who mean the most to us. When planning our big day we knew right from the start that we wanted food that spoke to our relaxed nature, not the stuffy usual. We were looking for the opportunity to celebrate all night, not just for 6 hours. And an absolutely breathtaking venue for the ceremony.

The day started in an amazing neo-gothic designed chapel. It was a taste of old to start our new. From there we started the party at Round Corner Cantina where we served gourmet tacos to out guests. We absolutely love tacos, almost as much as each other. It was fun and tasty, and we could not think of a better way to dine with our closest friends and family. From there we danced the night away, and since we booked the venue all night, kept the celebration going well past midnight!

Just 14 days after Valentine’s Day in late February 2017 Kayla and Dustin packed up to head out to McConnells Mill State Park for a Sunday hike together. Kayla stills remember getting dressed that morning and asking Dustin why he looked so fancy for a hike? Little did she know it would be the hike to remember forever! The State Park had been transformed into a winter wonderland over the past month but the sun shined bright that Sunday leaving an open blue sky, moss peeking through melting snow, and the trails manageable. The couple first partook in adventure and climbed off trail to checkout a waterfall up close and then transitioned back down to find the perfect spot for a picnic lunch. Jutting out into Slippery Rock Creek rested a gigantic bolder which proved to be the perfect spot to rest on, take in the river rapids, and enjoy each other’s company in solitude. After enjoying a nice picnic, Dustin asked Kayla to stand up and grab a quick photo but after the snapshot he went down on one knee. Dustin pulled out a gorgeous emerald cut diamond which seemed to sparkle forever in the sunlight, and began to ask Kayla if she would marry him. Before he could finish the question Kayla said YES!
