Whimsical New York Mansion Wedding

August 31, 2018

Who doesn't want their wedding at an upscale mansion? This gorgeous styled wedding has all the elegance and whimsically inspiration you need & the concept behind the inspiration is awesome!

Here is a little form Kristina Staal Photography about the inspiration:

The inspiration for this styled shoot is a special one. In 2017, I had a vision to create a styled shoot with talented wedding vendors and invite other photographers to come photograph the styled shoot alongside me - a community over competition vibe, where all us photographers, and other wedding professionals, could bond, have fun and create something beautiful together! I named the event Create + Collaborate for fun, and it was such a hit! This year, one of the photographers from last year approached me asking if I'd be doing it again this year, and if she could jump on board with me to plan it along with Jack & Grace Events (Aoife and Lauren of Jack & Grace Events where instrumental in helping me plan last years!). And so, Carolyn of Tesora Photography, Aoife and Lauren of Jack and Grace Events and myself, all set out to plan the most stunning styled shoots at The Wainwright House (it's really a mansion!) in Rye, New York.

When planning this styled shoot, we wanted to combine pops of color with with soft colors such as lilac, and we wanted the bridesmaids to match in a non-matching way (which is why we chose dresses in print and solid!). For the bride and groom, we decided on a classic Reem Acra gown ( can't go wrong with Reem Acra!), and a traditional timeless tux for the groom. We wanted the feel to be light and airy, so we felt a white tux would go best for the groom. All of this combined with pops of furniture (the cerise colored couch from Gather & Lounge!) and the historic backdrop of The Wainwright House, was the perfect combination. One of my favorite parts of the shoot was the gorgeous floral wall by Carrie Wilcox Floral Design. It added a romantic and unique element to our styled shoot, and is something that can be easily achieved by brides and grooms.
