Words from the photographer:
When you think of a mobile bartending service, you wouldn’t think concept and design; but Tassie of SassTass & The Pour Horse Mobile Bar Co is breaking down those walls as well as the cliche burlap and baby’s breath barriers for rustic weddings here in Texas and making waves in the industry with her unique ideas: With this Black Dahlia concept, she wanted to encourage brides to think outside the box, they have options for their themes and they don’t have to look any further to find their vendors. Having gone to Carriage Hills Ranch prior, Tassie, Eric (Cmart Celebrations), and Ashley spotted some different areas that would be perfect for a stunning Black Dahlia themed shoot. Having met other vendors with great visions, inspirations, styling and ideas, she knew she needed a few key players such as Ashley Medrano Photography, Rustic Romance Rentals, Cmart Celebrations and De Vinnies Paradise Florals to pull off this mesmerizing shoot.
Utilizing the Pantone color of the year in subtle ways and using black for the chic and elegant main, Cakes Couture made visually stunning masterpieces that changed color in the light and stole the show.
Nicole Mera brought along her best pieces that showcased her jewelry design talents with a 2.50ct Asscher Cut Diamond set in a custom platinum & diamond ring paired with a matching platinum & diamond eternity band for the bride and a Cobalt Chrome & Hammered Zirconium Euro Square Band for the groom. She also brought a pair of Platinum & Diamond Studs - 0.70ct each, 3.66ct Black Diamond Rose Cut Pear Shape Bypass Ring and a 2ct Round Black Diamond Rose Cut Slider Pendant to complete the brides look.
De Vinnie’s Paradise created a jaw dropping cascading bridal bouquet along with matching bridesmaid bouquets and boutonniere. She tied in various floral arrangements that overflowed from their vases and were used throughout the venue.
Carriage Hills Ranch has so many breathtaking views, it was difficult for the team to limit their spaces. We decided to keep the out of the box thinking going with both the bridesmaids wear, one pant suit and crop top and one pencil skirt with a matching floral print. Christian, our groom was formed in all black in a chic crushed velvet jacket. Eden, our bride, was in a black bodysuit and full black tulle skirt with grey and blue accents. Our intent was to mesmerize, invoke thought and imagination, a little fantasy and chic romance.
Rustic Romance Rentals did not disappoint with a variety of rentals that helped fill the venue and make the shoot come to life. From velvet benches and wooden tables to antique candlesticks and silver trays, she has it all and helped put the vision together inside and out.
Glam on demand blew us away with their classy pulled back Mohawk braids and Smokey eyes for the bride tribe.
Lazywood Lane provided the most stunning stationary which was both classy and timeless. She tied in our purple hues with a gorgeous vintage floral envelope liner.
Tassie of SassTass & The Pour Horse Mobile Bar Co mixed together a yummy Black Dahlia Gin Spritzer that looked just as good as it tasted while complimenting the purple hues throughout the other details.
Eric with Cmart Celebrations known to have an eclectic style. He loves planning weddings but does styling, coordinating. His eye for style is next to none, he’s chic and loves high fashion, adding in final touches, details and pizazz.
Ashley Medrano has a knack for capturing light, romantic and moody vibes. Ashley is known for pushing the boundaries and out of the box editing for a style. Her editing style is precise and fluid with each individual concept and captures the essence each vendor is eager to display.
Thanks to an amazing team of vendors we were able to pull off a shoot that will hopefully open up some brides minds to new ideas down here in San Antonio, Texas and show them that not all gorgeous weddings include a white dress and soft colored details.
