From the Photographer:
This styled shoot at the historic Foundation Hotel in Detroit, Michigan brings together creatives from across the country. While many people are based in the city, the shoot was styled by Las Vegas wedding planner Andrea Eppolito and shot by Brooklynite Betsi Ewing.
For this styled shoot, we wanted to breathe new life into a space that has been around for quite some time. We brought in wild greenery and jewel toned florals, which stood up to the brick and light beautifully. We brought in textured linens and rich accents such as the velvet menus and fur throws to add touchable, luxe elements to a building that was originally designed as a fire house!
Our couple was beautifully diverse. The bride serves as a professional model while the groom is actually married to another local wedding planner. The wedding dress was flowing and organic, a perfect compliment to the flowers we had selected. And for hair, we wanted to dress up the on trend, Meghan Markle messy-bun. Who knew she would wear a sleeker style down the aisle only a few months later!
For local flavor, we brought in a saxophone player. He was great about playing for us all throughout the day, and gave our "newlyweds" something to dance to!
My only regret of the day was NOT eating the wedding cake. It was designed in shades of brown and gold to echo the tones of the building, and it smelled like spun sugar!
