Downtown Durham Engagement Session

November 2, 2019

Gracie and Preston met in middle school, but never were friends until high school. They had been following each other on social media and every now and then would see each other in person or talk online, but nothing more than a quick hello. Come junior year of high school, they hung out one evening and realized they really enjoyed each other's company, so they decided they wanted to make seeing each other a regular thing. Neither of them were looking to commit to a serious relationship, so they decided it would be best to just continue being friends. For 3 years they remained best friends, talking and hanging out regularly. At the end of freshman year of college, after one of their long late night talks, Preston got into his truck to leave and found that his battery was dead.

That extra time they used to jumpstart his truck lead to a conversation about how they felt about each other and if they wanted to become more than friends. However, Preston was leaving for a mission trip to Florida for the summer and Gracie was not ready to jump into a relationship that would be long distance for that long. They decided to wait until after the summer and then revisit how they felt about each other. Once Preston returned at the end of the summer, they both knew that they wanted to date each other, so they begin dating and have now been together for 4 years.

They both knew that after dating for so long it was time for them to get married, so they opted for a short engagement, only about four months, and they are set to get married in October of 2019! Their wedding is set for a cool day on October 27th of 2019 with about 150 people in attendance. They are both lucky enough to have 6 of their closest friends stand beside them on their special day. For their rustic/chic country wedding they have decided to go with a burgundy and navy blue color scheme. Their wedding will be held at the beautiful Starlight Meadow venue found in the country of Burlington, NC. They are overjoyed to have the special day right round the corner and cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives together!
